Roofing, Windows, Siding and Gutters in Norwood
Norwood is an independent city of about 19,000 people entirely surrounded by Cincinnati, roughly five miles northeast of downtown in just over three square miles. It grew as a railroad and streetcar suburb between 1880 and 1925, and that is still what most of it is.

What We Do in Norwood
Prodigy Home Pros does four things for Norwood homeowners.
Roofing — full replacements, storm and wind damage, and repairs. Windows — ProVia replacement windows, insert or full-frame. Siding — vinyl, James Hardie fiber cement and Craneboard. Gutters — 6-inch seamless gutters formed on site and sized to the roof feeding them.

Norwood Homes and What They Need
The railroad reached Norwood in 1866, the Cincinnati, Lebanon and Northern cut the trip downtown to under twenty minutes in the early 1880s, and the electric streetcar arrived in 1891. Norwood incorporated as a village in 1888 with about a thousand people and was a city of 6,480 by 1902. By 1919 it had 47 factories.
What that built is a dense city of two- and three-story houses from 1880 to 1925 — Victorian Vernacular with a scattering of elaborate Queen Anne, plus Arts and Crafts bungalows and Foursquares. Turreted Victorians are not unusual here.
Those roofs are cut up. Queen Anne roofs are hip or multi-gabled or both, with turrets at the corners, dormer windows and tall decorative chimneys. Victorian Vernacular houses carry a front gable with a window in it. Foursquares have a hipped roof with a central dormer. Every one of those is a detail that leaks if it is done as an afterthought, and none of them is priced properly by the square foot.
Lots are tight and the streets are narrow, which changes staging and disposal more than it changes the roof itself. We sort that on the walk-through.
Storms and Weather in Norwood
Norwood's record is wind, and it is a repeat performer. Four severe thunderstorm wind events have been logged in the city since 2022, most recently in May 2024, and the derecho on 11 August 2026 put a tree across a highway here. Norwood also holds the largest hail report in Hamilton County over the last five years — 1.25 inches on 2 July 2023, logged in Norwood itself. That is half-dollar size: enough to bruise a roof already near the end of its life, not enough to total a sound one.
What to Expect
Most asphalt roof replacements are finished in a single day. Steep pitch, multiple dormers, slate or tile all add time, and we will tell you which yours is before we start. You get a written price before you commit to anything.
Access matters more here than it does out in the newer suburbs. Narrow drives, alley access and close neighbors change where a dumpster goes and how material gets to the roof, and we work that out on the walk-through rather than on the morning. Crews tarp the landscaping and run magnets over the drive and lawn before leaving. Financing is available — ask about it when you call.

Questions from Norwood Homeowners
My house has a turret. Who does that?
We do, and it is worth asking anyone quoting your house how they intend to handle it. A turret is a cone of small tapered courses with a flashing detail at every join to the main roof. It takes longer than the rest of the roof put together on some houses, and a quote that does not mention it has not accounted for it.
The houses here are close together. Where does everything go?
That is the real Norwood question and we work it out before the day, not on it. Narrow lots and street parking change where a dumpster sits and how material gets up. It is the part that goes wrong when a crew from out of the area shows up and improvises.
How long does a roof replacement actually take?
Most are a single day. A large or cut-up roof can run into a second day, and we will tell you which yours is before we start rather than after.
Can you just go over the old shingles?
We tear off. Laying new shingles over an old layer hides whatever the deck is doing underneath, adds weight, and shortens the life of the new roof.
My roof was damaged in a storm. Do I file a claim or pay for it?
It depends on the damage and your deductible, and it is not always the obvious answer. We inspect first and tell you what we found, including when a claim is not worth filing.
What does the warranty cover?
Manufacturer coverage on the shingles comes standard. The GAF Golden Pledge — 50 years on materials, 30 on workmanship — is an upgrade you can buy on qualifying installations. We will walk through the difference so you are choosing rather than guessing.
