Roofing, Windows, Siding and Gutters in Hamilton
Hamilton is the Butler County seat, about 20 miles north of downtown Cincinnati on the Great Miami River, with roughly 63,000 residents. It is the oldest housing stock we work in: more than a quarter of Hamilton homes predate 1940 and close to 60% predate 1960.

What We Do in Hamilton
Prodigy Home Pros does four things for Hamilton homeowners.
Roofing — full replacements, storm and wind damage, and repairs. Windows — ProVia replacement windows, insert or full-frame. Siding — vinyl, James Hardie fiber cement and Craneboard. Gutters — 6-inch seamless gutters formed on site and sized to the roof feeding them.

Hamilton Homes and What They Need
Hamilton's population has been essentially flat for thirty years, which tells you what kind of market this is. Almost nothing is being built. Nearly everything is being repaired, replaced or restored, and the median Hamilton house was built around 1956.
Three historic neighborhoods carry the oldest stock. Dayton Lane holds around 210 structures from the last quarter of the nineteenth century and the first quarter of the twentieth — Queen Anne, Italianate, Second Empire and Georgian Revival. German Village, nine blocks north of downtown, has 177 contributing buildings and was listed on the National Register in 1991. Rossville, on the west bank, dates from the 1830s.
Those houses come with details that most contractors quote as if they were not there. Box gutters built into the cornice are the big one — they are part of the roof, not an accessory hung off it, and replacing them with hung gutters changes how the building sheds water and how it looks. Steep pitches, multiple valleys and slate are all common on this stock.
Median lot size in Hamilton is about 9,100 square feet, the tightest of anywhere we work. That affects staging, where a dumpster goes and how material reaches the roof, and it is worth settling on the walk-through rather than the morning of.
Storms and Weather in Hamilton
Hamilton's severe weather is wind, not hail. The hail record within ten miles holds only 39 reports since 2004, the lowest of anywhere we serve, and we would rather tell you that than sell you an inspection. Tornadoes are the real exposure: in May 2024 an EF1 near McGonigle reached 110 mph and the survey recorded significant damage to the roof and garage of a single-family home.
What to Expect
Most asphalt roof replacements are finished in a single day. Steep pitch, multiple dormers, slate or tile all add time, and we will tell you which yours is before we start. You get a written price before you commit to anything.
Access matters more here than it does out in the newer suburbs. Narrow drives, alley access and close neighbors change where a dumpster goes and how material gets to the roof, and we work that out on the walk-through rather than on the morning. Crews tarp the landscaping and run magnets over the drive and lawn before leaving. Financing is available — ask about it when you call.

The GAF Golden Pledge warranty — 50 years on shingles, 30 years on workmanship — is available as a paid upgrade on qualifying roof installations. We will explain what it covers and what it does not before you decide whether it is worth it.
Questions from Hamilton Homeowners
My house has box gutters. Can you work on them?
Yes, and we will talk to you about the choice rather than making it for you. Box gutters are built into the cornice, so a like-for-like repair keeps the building looking right but costs more than hanging a modern gutter off the fascia. Both are legitimate answers depending on the house and the budget. What we will not do is quote the cheap one and let you find out afterwards what changed.
Is a hundred-year-old roof deck safe to reroof over?
Sometimes, often not, and you cannot tell until the old roof is off. That is exactly why we tear off rather than going over. On a house this age we expect to find some board decking that needs replacing, and we would rather price that in as a possibility than surprise you with it mid-job.
How long does a roof replacement actually take?
Most are a single day. A large or cut-up roof can run into a second day, and we will tell you which yours is before we start rather than after.
Can you just go over the old shingles?
We tear off. Laying new shingles over an old layer hides whatever the deck is doing underneath, adds weight, and shortens the life of the new roof.
My roof was damaged in a storm. Do I file a claim or pay for it?
It depends on the damage and your deductible, and it is not always the obvious answer. We inspect first and tell you what we found, including when a claim is not worth filing.
What does the warranty cover?
Manufacturer coverage on the shingles comes standard. The GAF Golden Pledge — 50 years on materials, 30 on workmanship — is an upgrade you can buy on qualifying installations. We will walk through the difference so you are choosing rather than guessing.
