Roofing, Windows, Siding and Gutters in Centerville

Centerville sits about six miles south of Dayton in Montgomery County, with roughly 24,000 residents. It is our Dayton-market service area, and it has a hail record materially worse than anything around Cincinnati — which changes what is worth checking on a Centerville roof.

What We Do in Centerville

Prodigy Home Pros does four things for Centerville homeowners.

Roofing — full replacements, storm and wind damage, and repairs. Windows — ProVia replacement windows, insert or full-frame. Siding — vinyl, James Hardie fiber cement and Craneboard. Gutters — 6-inch seamless gutters formed on site and sized to the roof feeding them.

Centerville Homes and What They Need

Centerville is older than Dayton — surveyed in February 1796, two months before Dayton was established, platted in 1805 and incorporated as a town in 1830. It sits on one of the highest points in Montgomery County at 974 feet, which is why it came through the 1913 flood intact.

The historic core is distinctive: Centerville has the largest collection of early stone buildings in Ohio, with around 30 still standing and nearly a hundred lining the streets in the nineteenth century. The Architectural Preservation District dates to 1972 and the National Register district to 1974, the first in Montgomery County.

Almost all of the housing, though, came later and came fast. School enrollment ran 550 students in 1863, passed 1,100 by 1955, and exceeded 6,800 by 1969. The ZIP's construction figures follow: about 3,300 units in the 1960s, 3,100 in the 1980s, 2,600 in the 1970s and 2,500 in the 1990s. Centerville became a city in December 1968, in the middle of all that.

Which means most Centerville roofs sit on houses between 30 and 60 years old, on suburban lots with straightforward access. Second and third replacements, where what matters is what is under the shingle rather than the shingle itself.

Storms and Weather in Centerville

Montgomery County's hail record is materially worse than Hamilton County's, and this is the one part of our service area where a hail inspection is not a pretext. Quarter-size hail fell in Centerville itself in April 2025, and in June 2021 baseball-size hail at 2.5 inches hit Beavercreek with golf-ball hail at Trotwood the same evening.

What to Expect

Most roof replacements are finished in a single day. You get a written price before you commit to anything. Crews tarp the landscaping, and we run magnets over the driveway and lawn before we leave.

An insurance claim runs differently from an out-of-pocket replacement, so we walk the roof with you first and tell you which one you are actually looking at. Financing is available — ask about it when you call.

Why Centerville Homeowners Call Us

Prodigy Home Pros is a GAF Master Elite contractor, a designation held by roughly 2% of roofing companies in the country. We install ProVia windows, James Hardie and Craneboard siding, and Wilco gutters. Our Google rating is 5.0 across 233 reviews.

The GAF Golden Pledge warranty — 50 years on shingles, 30 years on workmanship — is available as a paid upgrade on qualifying roof installations. We will explain what it covers and what it does not before you decide whether it is worth it.

Questions from Centerville Homeowners

Was Centerville hit by the 2019 Memorial Day tornadoes?
No. The EF4 tracked west and north of here, from Brookville through Trotwood into Dayton and Riverside, and none of the fifteen confirmed tornadoes from that outbreak touched Centerville or Washington Township. If a contractor has told you otherwise, they are guessing.

Is hail actually worth checking here?
More than in Cincinnati, yes. Montgomery County and neighboring Greene County have had real hail events recently — quarter-size in Centerville in April 2025 and baseball-size at Beavercreek in June 2021. That is the one part of our service area where a hail inspection is not a pretext.

How long does a roof replacement actually take?
Most are a single day. A large or cut-up roof can run into a second day, and we will tell you which yours is before we start rather than after.

Can you just go over the old shingles?
We tear off. Laying new shingles over an old layer hides whatever the deck is doing underneath, adds weight, and shortens the life of the new roof.

My roof was damaged in a storm. Do I file a claim or pay for it?
It depends on the damage and your deductible, and it is not always the obvious answer. We inspect first and tell you what we found, including when a claim is not worth filing.

What does the warranty cover?
Manufacturer coverage on the shingles comes standard. The GAF Golden Pledge — 50 years on materials, 30 on workmanship — is an upgrade you can buy on qualifying installations. We will walk through the difference so you are choosing rather than guessing.
